Scope and Contents note
Scope and Contents note
This collection contains the audiovisual materials created for the project I, Too, Sing America: The African American Personal Narrative in American History. Completed in February 2006, the project used diaries, letters, photographs, legal documents, and other objects handed down through families and others to spotlight the perspective of the African American eyewitness in American history. The project was designed to document and preserve oral history and memory of African American citizens, and this collection includes video and audio interviews with James and Louisa Kearse, Darrell K. White, Evelio Grillo, and Evelyn Gray.
