The collection consists of 25 copper photogravure printing plates for Edward S. Curtis's The North American Indian (NAI) portfolios which accompanied the 20-volume series of books. The plates represent examples from five portfolios (portfolios 2, 7, 15, 18, and 19). If known, Curtis's original negative numbers (starting with "x") are noted in the item descriptions.
