Scope and Contents
The collection consists of (2) two undated volumes of Chinese stories with English translations. The volumes have beveled wooden covers with the Chinese character for happiness carved and painted green on the front covers.
The volume entitled "The Story of Tea" measures 5.25 x 7.5 inches and contains 12 color illustrations depicting the process of harvesting, drying, and packaging tea.
The volume entitled "P'ang Tao (Flat Peaches) Eight Fairies Festival" measures 6.25 x 8.5 inches and contains 10 accounts of fairies occuring in Chinese folklore, with a color illustration of each fairy.

As an historical document, its contents may be at odds with contemporary views and terminology and considered offensive today. Vorda Honnold donated the books and other objects to the Department of Anthropology in 1989 (Accession 364394). The books were transferred from the object collections of the Department of Anthropology to the National Anthropological Archives in 1989.
