Received from Raphael Semmes, Maryland Historical Society, Baltimore, Maryland, 1940, containing transcript of a Manuscript Pamunkey vocabulary in MHS, recorded by the Reverend Edwin A. Dalrymple in January, 1844; several annotated transcripts of same by Swanton; and Autograph Letter Signed to Swanton by Frank G. Speck, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, April 21, 1940 (1 page), stating that the numerals in the Dalrymple vocabulary are really "a counting-out rhyme used in a game."
