Armand J. Eardley (1901-1972) was a geologist and professor at the University of Michigan and University of Utah. In 1935 he accompanied archaeologist Frederica de Laguna on an archaeological expedition to the Lower Yukon Valley in Alaska.
The expedition was sponsored by the University of Pennsylvania, and included Armand Eardley, Frederica de Laguna, Kenneth Gorton, and Norman Reynolds. The aim of the expedition was to investigate the possibility of finding ancient human remains in the Yukon Valley.

The scrapbook was given to the Department of Geology in the College of Mines and Earth Science at the University of Utah, who then donated it to the National Anthropological Archives in 2019.
