Biographical/Historical note
Sheldon Judson (1918-1999) was an archeologist and professor of geosciences at Princeton University. Judson wrote his Geology PhD dissertation on the San Jon region and took part in Frank H. H. Roberts's Smithsonian-sponsored excavations at San Jon in 1941 and 1947. He wrote numerous geo-archeological reports, including "Geology of the San Jon Site, Eastern New Mexico," published by the Smithsonian Institution in 1953.
