Scope and Contents
The collection contains the product of Smith's life's work as an industrial and transportation photographer. It consists of approximately 120,000 35mm color slides of various industrial and transportation subjects. Transportation is the larger subject area, including such topics as trucks, vehicles, transit, traffic, railroads, ships, etc. The slides are captioned and arranged by subject. Within the railroad photographs, a very large number of the slides relate to CSX. Collection includes a small number of images by other photographers.
