This collection dates from June 1983 to November 1991 and consists of 10 notebooks of research materials compiled by Clifford Amyx, art professor at the University of Kentucky (Lexington). The materials include a photocopied typed manuscript, titled "Portraits of Henry Clay: A Check List," that has photocopied images and photographs.
Some of his publications include "The Painters of Henry Clay as 'The Sage of Ashland,'" Kentucky Review, vol. VIII, no 1, Spring 1988, pp. 69-80; and "Henry Clay and the American State Portrait," Kentucky Review, vol. X, no. 3, Autumn 1990, pp. 39-66.
