Art Historian Andrew J. Consentino served as Professor at Franklin and Marshall College,1974-1980; Exhibit Curator at Smithsonian American Art Museum, 1980-1984; and Library of Congress, 1984-1995. He was author of many publications, including The Paintings of Charles Bird King (1785-1862), 1977; The Capital Image: Painters in Washington, 1800-1915, 1983; A Passion for Liberty: Alexis de Tocqueville on Democracy and Revolution, 1989; and City of Magnificent Distances, the Nation's Capital, 1991.
