It describes his childhood growing up in Indian Hill, the various families who lived in the area, and his twenty-five years of service in the Indian Hill section of Madeira, Cincinnati, Hamilton County, Ohio delivering mail as a rural letter carrier. The booklet contains twenty typed pages and one blank page.

Edward Samuel Hirsch (1899-1991) was an employee for the United States Post Office Department for fifty years. His family moved to the Indian Hill section of Madeira, Cincinnati in 1906, settling on a 150 acre farm now known as Camargo Club. Hirsch began his career with the Post Office Department as a rural carrier substitute in March 1915. He started his mail route in the Indian Hill section of Madeira, Cincinnati, Hamilton County, Ohio in March 1940 as a rural carrier and on Septmber 1, 1952 started a mounted route. He remained on that route until he retired in March 1965.
