The collection of John C. Casey journals includes three original letter books from Captain John Casey's time in Monterrey, Mexico during the Mexican-American War from 1847-1848 and as an emigration agent at the Seminole Agency in Florida from 1848 to 1856. This covers a period of time that includes the beginning of the third Seminole War. Additionally, one of the letter books also contains a journal of Casey's operations in the Indian Department in Florida from his arrival in August of 1848 until October of 1849.

The papers of feminist, conceptual, video, and performance artist Ilene Segalove measure 7.1 linear feet and 6.06 gigabytes and date from 1964 to 2021. The collection contains a small amount of biographical material including resumes, certificates, and address lists; correspondence with family and friends; writings; and teaching files from the University of California, Santa Barbara. The bulk of the collection consists of project and exhibition files for both solo works and works in collaboration with Lowell Darling, and printed material. Also included are photographic materials such as snapshots of exhibition openings and slides of artwork; and artwork, primarily artist notebooks and video art. There is a 2.7 linear foot unprocessed addition to this collection donated in 2021 that include materials from Segalove's childhood, photographs of family events, and materials related to recent projects including sound recordings on cassette. The papers of the expatriate African American painter Henry Ossawa Tanner measure 2.3 linear feet and date from the 1860s to 1978, with the bulk of the material dating from 1890 to 1937. Found in the papers are scattered biographical, family, and legal materials; twenty-seven folders of correspondence with family, friends, patrons, and galleries; writings and notes by Tanner and others; a small amount of printed material; numerous photographs of Tanner, his studio in Paris and home in Trepied, Normandy, his family, friends, fellow artists, and his artwork. Additional photographs include a circa 1890 shot of Tanner with fellow students at the Académie Julian and another depicting Tanner with members of the American Art Club in Paris, circa 1900. Also found are a few sketches and drawings.
