Hand-colored lantern slide of Iquulqutak [Yup'ik (Yupik Eskimo)], in a kayak near a shoreline in Hooper Bay, Alaska. According to Yup'ik community members, the floats on the front of the kayak are made of inflated seal stomachs. The kayak rides low in the water, indicating that it is carrying a heavy load.
