The papers of multimedia artist and filmmaker Linda Freeman measure 32.9 linear feet and date from 1971-2015, with the bulk of the material dating from 1990-2011. The collection primarily consists of the production archives of Freeman's video documentary production company L and S Video, producer of 27 short subject documentaries on contemporary American art and artists. Subjects include Emma Amos, Benny Andrews, Romare Bearden, Charles Burchfield, Elizabeth Catlett, Chuck Close, Robert Colescott, Jimmy and Max Ernst, Red Grooms, Jacob Lawrence, Richard Mayhew, Howardena Pindell, Horace Pippin, Faith Ringgold, and Betye and Alison Saar. Additional documentaries on subjects other than single artists include works on Luba artists of Central Africa, the creative process (on Freeman and five other artists featured in other documentaries in the collection), mixed media artists (on Alvin Loving, Flo Oy Wong, and Alison Saar), self-taught artists (on William Hawkins, Bill Traylor, and Grandma Moses), and a six-part series on art subjects for children called I Can Fly.

The exhibition catalogs of the Memorial Art Gallery measure 1.0 linear feet and date from 1913 to 1962. The catalogs are for exhibitions held at the Memorial Art Gallery, 1913-1962, including the Inaugural Exhibition. Incomplete runs of annual exhibitions of the Rochester International Salon of Photography, 1929-1958, the Rochester Camera Club, 1943-1950, the Rochester Finger Lakes Exhibitions, 1938-1958, and the National Ceramic Exhibition, 1938-1952, are also included, as is the publication MEMORIAL ART GALLERY IN ROCHESTER, published in 1924 to commemorate the enlargement of the Gallery. In addition, there are several catalogs with no apparent connection to the Memorial Art Gallery. The Gallery regularly exhibited the Rochester Art Club, and featured many modernist painters in its exhibitions.

The papers of sculptor and site-specific installation artist Elyn Zimmerman measure 34.98 linear feet and 1710.223 gigabytes, and date from 1969-2017. The collection documents the artist's life and work through correspondence, writings, project and commission files, exhibition files, teaching files, and printed material. Project and commission files comprise the majority of the collection at 18.2 linear feet and comprehensively document dozens of Zimmerman's site-specific sculptural projects and proposals for public and private sites across the United States and internationally. Items include correspondence, contracts, photographs, models, blueprints, and original sketches and drawings. The papers include a small number of born digital records, including digital images of projects, construction sites, and floorplans, as well as PowerPoint presentations. There is a 6.48 linear foot and 1710 gigabyte unprocessed addition to this collection donated in 2021 that includes biographical information, interviews, subject and project files, exhibition files and lists, photographs, writings, videos, and preliminary works of art. The addition predominantly documents the comprehensive photographic documentation of Zimmerman's works and extensive preparatory drawings. Materials date from circa 1967-2019. A portion of the addition includes born digital material.
