The interviews conducted by artist and professor Donald C. Smith relating to artist Edwin Dickinson measure 0.6 linear feet and date from 1981 to 1986. The interviews were conducted as part of a research project on Dickinson. Smith interviewed a number of Dickinson's students to learn about his teaching philosophy. The interviewees are: Lennart Anderson, Francis Cunningham, Vera Chopak De Champlain, Edward (Ted) Denyer, Louis Finkelstein and Denver Lindsey.
Brooklyn Museum interviews of artists
Interviews of 72 artists, and transcripts for all but five, conducted by Arlene Jacobowitz, the Associate Curator for the Department of Painting and Sculpture at the Brooklyn Museum, between 1965 and 1968. The artists discuss their work in the museum collection. Also included are 38 edited excerpts of the interviews, approximately 2-3 min. in length, used as "audio-labels" in the 1968 "Listening to Pictures" installation at the museum.
Eugene Carroll papers
The papers of art history professor and collector Eugene Carroll (1931-2016) measure 1.8 linear feet and date from 1955-2015. The collection documents Carroll's interest in particular artists as a historian, a collector, and in a few instances, a friend. Carrol maintained a decades-long correspondence with artists Jacqueline Gourevitch and Marcia Marcus, and dozens of letters, postcards, and photographs in the artists files document those relationships. The collection contains a few published audiovisual CDs and DVDs and one sound cassette pertaining to the artists. Scant material relates to Carroll's tenure at Vassar College, and no material is found regarding Carroll's chief research interest, Rosso Fiorentino.

Tanager Gallery records
The records of contemporary New York City Tanager Gallery measure 2.6 linear feet and date from 1952 to 1979. Found are administrative files, financial and legal records including detailed receipt books, scattered correspondence, artists' files for circa 70 artists that include price lists and biographies, two scrapbooks of printed materials, newsclippings, exhibition announcements and other printed materials, and five photographs of openings at the gallery and of the exterior of the building.

The papers of New York painter and educator Marcia Marcus measure 8.42 linear feet and .389 gigabytes (1 computer file), and date from 1928-2016, with the bulk of the materials dating from 1950-2000. The papers include biographical material, correspondence, interviews, writings (including two diaries), project files, personal business records, printed material, photographic material, eight sketchbooks, and artwork. Extensive personal and professional correspondence is with her husband and close friends, galleries, museums, and other arts organizations. Notable correspondents include Sally Avery, Dody Müller, and Robert (Bob) Richenburg, and, to a lesser extent, Dorothy Gill Barnes, Elaine Benson, Elaine de Kooning, Grace Hartigan, and Myron Stout. Photographic material includes photographs of Marcus at all stages of her life and photographs and slides documenting her paintings.

The major influence of dealer Leo Castelli and his gallery on the development of mid-to-late twentieth century modern art in America is well-documented through business and scattered personal correspondence, administrative files, exhibition files, extensive artists' files and printed materials, posters, awards and recognitions, photographs, and sound and video recordings. Also included are records for the subsidiary firms of Castelli Graphics and Castelli/Sonnabend Tapes and Films.
Richard Marchand historical postcard collection (35mm slides)

The Richard Marchand Historical Postcard Collection contains approximately 1,200 35mm slide reproductions of postcard images depicting early twentieth century architectural and garden views of over 600 private estates throughout the United States. The collection includes views of estates owned by popular movie stars of the 1920s and 1930s, including Charlie Chaplin, Mary Pickford, Douglas Fairbanks, Claudette Colbert and Buster Keaton.
