George Brown Goode Collection
The bulk of the George Brown Goode Collection (Record Unit 7050) predates the establishment of the present-day Smithsonian Institution Archives. A small addition of autograph letters was received from the Division of Political History, National Museum of American History in 1983 under accession number 83-081.

Charles W. Smiley and William Van Zandt Cox, Fishery Statistics
This collection consists of five bound volumes of statistics, compiled by Smiley and Cox, on the exportation and importation of fishery products, 1731-1880. Apparently these statistics were compiled for use by the Fisheries Division of the Tenth Census, 1880.
George H. Stathes photographs of Africa
Photographs made by George H. Stathes in northern Nigeria, Ghana, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Burundi, and Rwanda during the mid 1960s. Stathes' photographs depict people, agriculture, markets, fishing and fisheries, roads, a cemetery, ceremonies and dances, art, and Rwenzori Mountains.
This record unit includes correspondence of the division, 1865-1941; accession and distribution record books, 1882-1936; invoices on specimens, ca. 1895, 1911-1923; and related notes, lists and materials on fishes.
