University of Pennsylvania papers relating to Eadweard Muybridge's studies on animal locomotion
Printed matter (1885-1890), receipts, and certificates (1888-1899) include the prospectus and final publication of ANIMAL LOCOMOTION (1887), the Library of Congress register of copyright, clippings, and insurance certificates. Correspondence (1886-1901) generally relates to the University's effort to sell the equipment after the project's completion and contains 17 letters from Muybridge.

William F. Meggers Aerial Photography Collection
This collection consists predominantly of aerial photography of the Washington, D.C. area created by Dr. William F. Meggers (1888 - 1966), a noted physicist and spectroscopist at the National Bureau of Standards (NBS), as part of a research project on sensitizing glass plate negatives which he carried out during the period 1918 to 1919. The collection includes 384 glass negatives (predominantly 4 x 5 inches, with some 5 x 7 inches), four photo albums, several folders of loose photographs, and a document.

Archives Center Lantern Slide Collection
Approximately 200 lantern slides, of various scenes in America and Canada, many of them published by railroad lines, presumably to arouse tourist interest in travel by rail. New York State and California are especially emphasized. Some images depict the railroads, railroad stations and railroad equipment. One group of images is from the Nabisco factory.

Selle, Joseph, 1906-1988
The collection documents the professional activities of Joseph Selle (1906-1988), a photographer and proprietor of Fox Movie Flash, a street photography business in San Francisco, California. There are a few documents relating to Selle's personal life, but the bulk of the papers relate to his street photography business. Most of the documents date from between 1945 and 1975 and include insurance papers, correspondence, legal documents, receipts, tax records, cashbooks, employment applications, newspaper clippings, licenses and permits, payroll materials, and bank statements, as well as samples of photographs from the business.
