Collection consists of photographic materials taken by Frank Espada, mostly images from the Puerto Rican Diaspora Documentary Project, which documents these communities across the Unites States. In addition, there are materials relating to his earlier work documenting civil rights activities, also in the United States during the 1960s and 1970s.
Black-and-white photoprints from two documentary projects: "In the South Bronx of America" and "Refuge". Mel Rosenthal's mission in the Bronx project was to record the deterioration and poverty there. Some photographs from the Bronx project have also been used in the "Refuge" project, because they document immigrants who moved into the Bronx.
The collection is the result of research conducted by Dr. Alixa Naff relating to the study of the early Arab immigrant experience in the United States from about 1880-World War II. The study began with oral history interviews in 1962 and became a major project in 1980 with a grant from the National Endowment for the Humanities. It documents the assimilation of Arabic speaking immigrants in the United States.
This collection consists of one 8 by 10 inch photograph of Ivan Becker holding a Fairchild K20 aerial camera in front of a Cessna L-19, and the booklet, "Aerial Photo Reconnaissance cycle for the 47th Infantry Division."
The papers of photographer Nickolas Muray measure 0.9 linear feet and date from 1910 to 1978. Found within the papers are biographical materials; business and personal correspondence, including a handful of letters from Frida Kahlo; writings; teaching files, primarily of photography courses taught at New York University; printed material; artwork; and photographic materials of Muray, his family and friends, and his work.
This collection contains4,300 black and white photographs that document architecture and design in Paris from 1925-1937.These silver-gelatin prints, mostly 8 x 10, depicting French industrial art objects, interior settings, and window displays were amassed by Bonney who lived most of her life in Paris. Many of the photographs were done by Bonney. She collected others from news agencies, photographers, and stock photograph vendors. Many of the photographs are accompanied by captions composed in a conversational manner by Bonney.

Much of this collection depicts architecture and peoples in such varying places as Mali, Niger, the Ivory Coast, and Burkina Faso. There are images of peoples including the Dogon in Timbuktu, Gao, San, and Fulani peoples.
Sam DeVincent loved music and art and began collecting sheet music with lithographs at an early age. Series 9: Domestic and Community Life documents family, love, marriage, home, and social organizations. The collection contains 48 matted black and white photographs, measuring 11 x 14 inches, taken by photographer and art professor Vera Viditz-Ward. These prints comprised the exhibition Paramount Chiefs of Sierra Leone, which was on display at the National Museum of African Art from November 1990 through September 1991. The images consist of portraits of paramount chiefs in Sierra Leone and include ceremonial clothes and headcovers, jewelry, handheld objects, drums, staffs and ivory trumpets. Culture groups depicted include the Yalunka, Limba, Koranko, Kono, Kissi, Mende, Krim, Vai, Lokko and Temne peoples.
