Aircraft silhouettes are one training tool used to familiarize both civilians and military personnel with various aircraft types so that they can recognize whether aircraft overhead are ally or enemy models. This collection consists of three 10 by 14 inch sheets of hand drawn and inked aircraft recognition silhouettes.
World War I German Aviation Photographs
The World War I German Aviation Photographs Collection consists of images of a number of subjects relating to World War I German aviation. Included in the collection are photographs of personalities such as Captain Oswald Boelke and General Ernst Udet, images of aircraft (mostly German), including various types of Fokker, Farman, Nieuport, Vickers and Bristol aircraft, and contemporary aerial photography. It should be noted that the collection is entirely in German, including the captions that are written on the reverse of many of the photographs.

Herbert Mercer Photography Collection
Herbert Mercer served with the United Kingdom's Royal Flying Corps (Royal Air Force) from 1916 until 1945, and was stationed in Baghdad, Iraq, in the early 1920s. While there, he photographed a variety of aircraft that were either stationed in Iraq or Egypt or landing there for refueling. This collection contains eleven photographs taken by Mercer in Iraq and Egypt.

This collection consists of historical files on FI, its predecessors, and subsidiaries. The material consists primarily of historical/public relations material, including photographs and brochures, but also includes significant amounts of business records for FEAC, Kreider-Reisner, Hiller, Republic, Ranger, Stratos, and Swearingen. The collection also documents Fairchild's joint ventures with Fokker, Pilatus, and other aircraft manufacturers.
