Most of Ruth Landes's papers relate directly or indirectly to Landes's American Indian research, her work in Brazil, and her study of bilingualism. There is also a considerable amount of material that relates to her experiences (sometimes fictionalized) at Fisk University. There is only small amount of material related to her other interests. Her collection also has material of and relating to the Brazilian folklorist and journalist Edison Carneiro. There is also noteworthy material concerning Herbert Baldus, Ruth Benedict, Elmer C. Imes, Charles S. Johnson, and Robert E. Park. There is a large amount of printed and processed materials in the collection, mainly in the form of newspaper clippings and a collection of scholarly papers.

This accession consists of publicity files for programs sponsored by the Resident Associate Program (RAP). The programs consist of special events, including performances, lectures, and films; performance series; and courses. The files contain information on the publicity developed for each program, such as press releases and clippings.
Willy Ley Papers

This collection consists of Willey Ley's personal files, including his business correspondence, book contracts, and galley proofs, as well as publicity concerning Dr. Ley and his activities, and inquiries and comments from Ley's readership during his tenure as columnist for Galaxy Magazine (1952-1969). The material also includes articles gathered by Ley on topics ranging from astronomy and space travel to biology and natural parks to mythology, psychic phenomena, and UFOs.
Duane Hanson papers
The papers of Florida realist sculptor Duane Hanson date from 1935-2006 and measure 12.9 linear feet. Hanson's career is documented through biographical information, personal business records, correspondence, subject files, artwork, writings, printed materials, and photographs. There are numerous letters from the O.K. Harris Gallery and Ivan Karp, Dr. Martin Bush at Witchita State University, and Dewey Hanson.
United States Space Program Oral History Collection [Kapp]
This collection consists of reel to reel audio tapes relating to the United States space program. The material includes recordings of events, missions, press conferences, and other happenings from the Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo programs.

Smithsonian Folklife Festival records: 2018 Smithsonian Folklife Festival
The Smithsonian Institution Festival of American Folklife, held annually since 1967 on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., was renamed the Smithsonian Folklife Festival in 1998. The materials collected here document the planning, production, and execution of the annual Festival, produced by the Smithsonian Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage (1999-present) and its predecessor offices (1967-1999).
