The papers of ceramicist Glen Lukens measure 1.6 linear feet and date from 1920 to 1983. The bulk of the papers consist of letters from Lukens to family members, and other correspondence with family, friends, and colleagues. Notably, letters describe Lukens' time working in Haiti to establish a ceramic industry, his views on United States involvement in World War II, and the Watts Riots in Los Angeles in 1965. Also found are biographical materials, scattered writings and notes on ceramics and other subjects, printed materials, and photographs.

Eliot Elisofon Photographic Archives, National Museum of African Art
Photographs taken by Jacob Anthony Reis to document his experiences in Southern Cameroon while serving as a Presbyterian missionary from 1909 to 1945. The photographs document the life and peoples at Jacob A. Reis's mission stations, especially in and near Efulen, Cameroon, in the early 20th Century. African peoples pictured include the Bassa, Bulu and Ntumu. Structures depicted include churches, a dispensary, a fishing hut, a saw mill, school buildings such as a Baptist girls' school in Doulal and thatched roof buildings. Also included are African ritual objects collected by the mission and a photographic reproduction of a handwritten statistical list of bible readers, communicants, preachers and students.

Glenn Hammond Curtiss (1878-1930) is best known as an aviation pioneer and inventor and founder of the Curtiss Aeroplane and Motor Co. The papers of painter, educator, and writer Louis Finkelstein measure 11.2 linear feet and date from 1930 to 2001. The papers document his career in New York through biographical material; correspondence with friends and colleagues; printed material such as exhibition catalogs, announcements, and published articles; sketches and sketchbooks; and professional material, including exhibition records and documents related to his time on the board of directors of the National Academy of Design. Also found are teaching materials and extensive writings, including notes and lecture outlines in over 40 notebooks and draft articles and lectures written by Finkelstein and others. The collection also includes over 40 sound recordings of lectures and audio notes by Finkelstein.
