Eliot Elisofon Photographic Archives, National Museum of African Art
Photographs of Benin art objects in the Hirshhorn Museum that were intended to transfer to the National Museum of African Art. Also included in the collection of photographs are four installation shots. Two of these images, taken by O.E. Nelson of New York, NY, are of a Benin exhibition in the Carlebach Gallery in 1960. The remaining two installation shots were taken by Jahn & John Thomson of Los Angeles, California, of an exhibit at the African Art Center, Inc., in Los Angeles, CA.
