This accession consists of publicity files for programs sponsored by the Resident Associate Program (RAP). The programs consist of special events, including performances, lectures, and films; performance series; and courses. The files contain information on the publicity developed for each program, such as press releases and clippings.

The Smithsonian Institution Festival of American Folklife, held annually since 1967 on the National Mall in Washington, D.C., was renamed the Smithsonian Folklife Festival in 1998. The materials collected here document the planning, production, and execution of the annual Festival, produced by the Smithsonian Center for Folklife and Cultural Heritage (1999-present) and its predecessor offices (1967-1999). Garrison was an applied medical anthropologist who researched the cultural understandings and community treatment structures surrounding mental illness and mental health care among low-income, minority, and migrant communities of the New York metropolitan area. This record unit consists of master audio tapes for Smithsonian Galaxy editions 77-125, 1981-1983, and Radio Smithsonian programs 534-574, 1980; and scripts of Radio Smithsonian programs 1-400.
Product Cookbooks Collection
The collection consists of cookbooks, but many would accurately be described as pamphlets. Also included are some labels from products that contain recipes. The cookbooks were produced by manufacturers of the ingredients of foods; by beverage producers; by the manufacturers of appliances for which certain recipes or ways of cooking were particularly appropriate; by trade associations; and by electric and power companies who produced cookbooks for their customers.
