Papers document the training and career of Susan B. Crossman as a kindergarten teacher in the early twentieth century. The collection includes workbooks that were part of the Friedrich Froebel method of kindergarten teaching, which are filled with cut and folded paper and needlecraft projects that were part of a kindergarten teacher's training; a 1932 photograph of Crossman; her 1902 graduation program; class notes from 1903-1904; and a manual of Froebel's teaching methodology, undated.

The papers, 1878-1964 (20.5 linear feet) of museum curator, director, and art scholar William Mills Ivins (1881-1961) consist of correspondence, writings, notes, photographs, and Ivins family papers. Ivins was Curator of Prints, 1916-1946, Assistant Director, 1933-1938, and Acting Director, 1938-1940 at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. The collection contains professional and personal correspondence with art historians, art dealers, museum curators, print and book collectors, and artists concerning the history of print making, book design and illustration, print collectors and collecting, exhibitions, and museum administration. Also found are Ivins' published and unpublished writings and lectures, and notes. The collection contains some Ivins' family papers including family correspondence, genealogies, and photographs.

This collection includes glass plate and copy negatives taken by Frederick Webb Hodge on a collecting trip to the Havasupai Reservation in the Grand Canyon, Arizona in 1919. Hodge was an archaeologist and collector for the Museum of the American Indian, Heye Foundation between 1918 and 1931 most famously leading the Hendricks-Hodge Hawikku excavations between 1917 and 1923.
