This accession consists of audiotapes recorded during the Friday Noon Lecture Program at the National Museum of Natural History (NMNH) as well as other lectures organized by the NMNH, Office of Education and, beginning in 2006, its successor office, NMNH, Office of Guest Services.
Museum of the American Indian/Heye Foundation records
Heye, George G. (George Gustav), 1874-1957
These records document the governance and programmatic activities of the Museum of the American Indian/Heye Foundation (MAI) from its inception in 1904 until its sublimation by the Smithsonian Institution in 1990. The types of materials present in this collection include personal and institutional correspondence, individual subject files, minutes and annual reports, financial ledgers, legal records, expedition field notes, research notes, catalog and object lists, publications, clippings, flyers, maps, photographs, negatives and audio-visual materials. These materials span a varied range of subjects relating to the activities of the museum which are more fully described on the series level.

This collection contains the professional papers of William Curtis Sturtevant and documents his activities as Curator of North American Ethnology at the National Museum of Natural History, his work as the editor-in-chief of the Handbook of North American Indians, his research among the Seminole and Iroquois people, and other professional activities. The collection is comprised of books, sound recordings, research and field notes, realia, artifacts, clippings, microfilm, negatives, slides, photographs, manuscripts, correspondence, memorandums, card files, exhibition catalogs, articles, and bibliographies.
Jerome R. Mintz papers
The Jerome R. Mintz Papers document his career as an educator and ethnographic filmmaker. Mintz's papers relate to his research in Andalusia, Spain, among the Hopi, and on Hasidism. The collection includes audio tapes, correspondence, notes, photographs, publications, and transcriptions. Mitnz's papers also feature course materials from the Jewish studies and anthropology classes he taught at Indiana University.
Lily Spandorf drawings
This collection consists of 754 pen-and-ink, watercolor, and gouache drawings and paintings by artist Lily Spandorf. They depict scenes from various years of the Festival of American Folklife and its successor, the Smithsonian Folklife Festival.
