These digital surrogates reproduced the records of the Assistant Commissioner for the State of Texas, Bureau of Refugees, Freedmen, and Abandoned Lands, 1865–1869. The records consist of 10 volumes and some unbound documents. The volumes include letters and endorsements sent, orders issued, registers of letters received, and a "record of criminal offenses." The unbound documents consist primarily of letters and reports received.

The unbound records include letters, reports, and issuances received. Except for some unfilmed duplicate copies this microfilm publication contains all the records created or received in the office of the Assistant Commissioner for Alabama.

This collection contains a handwritten manuscript of approximately 200 pages by John Wesley. The manuscript gives a history of several generations of the Wesley family in Maryland.

These digital surrogates reproduced 55 volumes containing signatures of and personal identification data about depositors in 29 branch offices of the Freedman's Saving and Trust Company, 1865–1874.
19th century African-American Literature Collection
This collection, which dates from the 19th century, contains 30 books written by or concerning African-Americans. The books are largely non-fiction and include material relating to African-American churches and evangelists, fraternal organizations, prominent members of the African-American Community, former slaves, education and self-improvement. Also present are several volumes of poetry, a tax ledger and a volume concerning patents.
19th Century Pamphlet Collection
This collection, which dates from 1838-1898, contains nine pamphlets and one booklet. The materials cover various subjects relating to African-Americans, including civil rights, education, the Civil War draft and services for freedmen. Several of the pamphlets contain speeches by Frederick Douglass.
Henson Family Papers

The Henson Family papers, which date from 1818 to 1943 and measure 0.18 linear feet, document the activities of Tobias Henson and his descendants. The papers are comprised of booklets, correspondence, legal documents, and receipts.
Fractious Family House Photographs
This collection includes three photographs of the A-frame house built by Barry Farm early settler William Fractious in 1867-68 on the 2100 block of Elvans Road in Southeast, Washington, DC. The images were taken in 2009 by Patricia Brown Savage while conducting research on the history of Elvans Road.
