James Faris (1936 – present) is an American cultural anthropologist and epistemologist who received his PhD from Cambridge University in 1966. He conducted fieldwork in the fishing settlement of Cat Harbour, Newfoundland, among the Nuba of Southeastern Kordofan in the Sudan, and among the Navajo in the American Southwest. His research specializations include cognitive anthropology, art and aesthetics, ritual, social organization and reproduction, anthropological linguistics, and visual anthropology and critical theory and representation. The James Faris Papers, 1960-2014, primarily document his fieldwork with the Nuba peoples of Southeastern Sudan. His papers also include materials related to representation of the Nuba peoples and various controversies in visual anthropology and documentary film that related to Leni Riefenstahl and her filmmaking among the Nuba. During the 1960s Faris was drawn into activism against the Vietnam War while at the University of Connecticut and his papers contain ephemeral materials on radical anthropology and racism from that period. The collection consists of field notes, correspondence, photographs, sound recordings, films (including scripts and transcriptions), videos, book and papers drafts, and news and magazine clippings.

This collection consists of three Piaggio & Co. (Italy) photo albums containing photographs of Piaggio aircraft from the period of circa 1934 to 1945, including the Piaggio P.16 bomber; the long-distance transport prototypes Piaggio P.23M and P.23R (also known as the P.123); the prototype Piaggio P.32-I bomber; the Piaggio P.50-I and P.50-II bombers; the four-engine Piaggio P.108B, P.108C, and P.108T aircraft; the Piaggio P.111 high-altitude research aircraft; and the prototype Piaggio P.119 fighter. Also included are photographs of aircraft built by Piaggio from designs by two other Italian companies: the Nardi FN.305 and the Nardi FN.315, the Cant (CRDA) Z.501, and the Cant (CRDA) Z.506 family.

The Bedman Brothers Company Records collection focuses primarily on the business and financial transactions of Bedman Brothers seed company of Rahway, New Jersey, and includes accounting ledgers, purchase orders, price lists, miscellaneous business and family correspondence, and various brochures, pamphlets and leaflets related to horticultural topics. Other holdings in the collection include World War II ration stamps and two scrapbooks, one of which contains many late nineteenth and early twentieth century chromo-lithographed trade cards (primarily from the sewing, clothing, and floral industries). The other scrapbook holds news clippings from the Civil War period. Seperated materials include seed gathering equipment used by field workers.

Elizabeth Ann Fox Martin Meek (1928--2020) was a prominent aerospace educator who, in 1975, filed a successful class action lawsuit against the University of South Alabama on behalf of women faculty and administrators alleging sexual discrimination in pay and benefits. This collection consists of the following items relating to the career of Dr. Elizabeth Martin Meek: the event program for the Crown Circle awards ceremony presented by the 1981 National Congress on Aerospace Education during which Dr. Martin was inducted into the group; a photocopied news clipping from the January 6, 1981 issue of The Mobile Register regarding the sex discrimination lawsuit filed by Dr. Martin on behalf of female faculty and administrators at the University of South Alabama; and the August 9, 1988 issue of The Vanguard, the student newspaper of the University of South Alabama, regarding the final settlement of the lawsuit.

Rudy Arnold (1902-1966) was introduced to photography in 1918. After studying at the New York School of Photography, he worked at the New York Journal-American and the New York Graphic. During his stint at the latter he started to focus on aviation photography. In 1928, Arnold started his own aviation photography business and worked out of the following New York air fields and airports during his career: Roosevelt Field, the old Curtiss Airport, Floyd Bennett Field, and LaGuardia Airport His coverage of a wrecked airliner in upstate New York was the first photograph sent by wire to newspapers across the country. Arnold's work appeared in every aviation magazine, house organs (Douglas, Grumman), and mass circulation magazines as well as many newspapers. He also did motion-picture camera work for Universal and Paramount.
