This collection is comprised of photographic and manuscript materials, primarily created by Eliot Elisofon to document his travels and work. The images portray many aspects of African life and culture including agriculture, wildlife, archaeology, architecture, art and artisans, children, cityscapes and landscapes, leaders, markets, medicine, recreation, ritual and celebration, and transportation. The manuscript materials include correspondence, essays, clippings, puobligations, notes, research, and itineraries.
George W. Nace Papers
This accession consists of materials that document the career of George W. Nace and the Amphibian Facility at the University of Michigan that he administered. Materials include correspondence, memoranda, brochures, clippings, grant proposals and records, and other administrative papers.
These records deal in some degree with Howland's work as Head Curator but mostly describe his assignment as a Special Assistant. Records include wide correspondence with furniture dealers, professional organizations, learned societies, historical preservation groups, and prospective donors. This collection, which dates from 1926-1986, documents the output of Moses Asch through the various record labels he founded and co-founded, and includes some of his personal papers. The Asch collection includes published recordings, master tapes, outtakes, business records, correspondence, photographs, and film.
These records document the museological work of the Office of Museum Programs (OMP) among its various constituencies - international, national, and local. The records focus on training for smaller museums in all aspect of museum work, including security, registration, conservation, graphics, education, development, and the like.

The exhibition records of the Contemporary Study Wing of the Finch College Museum of Art measure 20.9 linear feet and date from 1943 to 1975, with the bulk of records dating from the period its galleries were in operation, from 1964 to 1975. Over two-thirds of the collection consists of exhibition files, which contain a wide range of documentation including artist files, checklists, correspondence, writings, photographs, interviews, numerous films and videos, artist statements, printed materials, and other records. Also found within the collection are administrative records of the museum, artist files, and papers of the Contemporary Wing's director and curator, Elayne Varian, which were produced outside of her work at Finch College.
